Take Me Out To A Ball Game!

Yay! We went to a baseball game this week!
Last time I went to a bball game was at BYU in the freezing rain/snow.
The time before that was when I won tickets to the Padres game.

We got tickets from Jeremy's company which also included valet parking.
I think the whole concept of valet parking is kinda weird.
You mean you let somebody take your keys and they park your car for you?
And then you go back and they drive up with car?
I said to the guy, "So I just get out of the car right and that's it?"
WEIIIRRDDD.
I'd rather just park my car myself, thanks.

  • These past few weeks have been pretty crazy for the Castagnos. We have been out of town traveling all over the place, people have come to visit us, but things have finally slowed down for us! Oh wait, we still have a red head coming in to visit this week! Yippppeeeeee.
  • This week I started my job as a pre-K teacher! I absolutely love it! It has been so much fun playing and teaching those little ones.  My co-workers are really nice and they are always trying to make me feel comfortable and welcomed.
  • Jeremy and I also got our ward callings.  We are the new sunbeam teachers!!! For those who don't know what that is: we teach Sunday School to the 3-year-olds in our church. Yay! We are loving this new ward calling. Jeremy especially is really excited because he has never worked with children before and is having such a great time interacting with them. Both of us have never been in the Primary before and it's so funny during singing time, we both pretend to sing along because we don't know any of the songs.  haha we are always glancing at each other with a look of "do you know this song???"
I'm thinking that by the end of this year I'll be talking like a child, right????

1 Year of Lovin'

Today is our ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY!
Instead of writing a sappy blog post of my love for Jeremy (obvi),
I wanna write about my favorite/funny things about us.

  1. Every morning Jeremy wakes up sooo excited about life and who else does he want to share that excitement with? ME. But here is the thing, I HATE mornings. And I hate waking early.  Although we have been married a year, we still have this morning struggle almost everyday. And although he does this every day, I'm glad that I'm the person who he wants to share every morning with.
  2. Seriously, sometimes it feels like we are in a Disney movie. Jeremy and I both lack talent in the singing department, but somehow we are always singing together (I know my old roommates are cringing as they are reading this).  We make up our own songs about love and us, or we do a remix of a popular song.  Either way, we are always singing together and to each other.
  3. My favorite part is when we finish each other's sentences. HA, JK. But we do always say things at the same TIME! We have the same reaction to a situation. It's embarrasing when we do it in front of people, I just think, "Yep, is it obvious we are married?" The other day we both said at the same time, "WHY WOULD SOMEBODY DO THAT?"
  4. Whenever I plan a surprise for Jeremy, HE ALWAYS GUESSES WHAT IT IS. I hardly ever try to surprise him, but when I do, he figures it out.  And my surprises are always COMPLETELY random. Oh wellz. One day I shall be successful.
  5. We are the worst gift givers.  Never in our marriage will we open presents or gifts on the actual holiday or birthday. For example, I wanted to get Jeremy a really nice watch for graduation.  I bought one in February and couldn't contain my excitement and so I ended up giving it to him for Valentine's instead.  All of my birthday presents this year were given to me weeks/months in advance. We can't keep it a secret from each other!

When I think about our wedding day, it seems like a LONG time ago. I feel like I have been married to Jeremy my whole life now.  We have accomplished so much in just our first year of marriage, graduating from BYU, moving across the country, starting new jobs.
ONE year down, ETERNITY to go!

Happy Anniversary Honey!!!!

I'm NOT feeling 22

Last week I celebrated my 23rd Birthday!!!!!!!!
And now I can no longer sing along to TSwift's song.

Every year I always dread celebrating my birthday but so far my 20s have been good to me.
Last year Kori freaking surprised me all day with birthday celebrations.
This year I was able to celebrate it with my family including my brother-in-law.

I started my day at 6AM, went to a job interview for 3 hours.  We had some carne asada for dinner. And I was sooo excited. I haven't had Mexican food for a LONG time. I also had to have tres leches for my birthday cake! YUMMY.  My mom's birthday is the day before mine and so we opened presents for her too! Seriously I was spoiled rotten for my birthday this year!

Jeremy's first time grilling (I HAD to take a picture).
Also, our first grill! haha

Is that my mom or my older sister??? That is most definitely my beautiful mother.

JD comes to town!

JD was also in town so we had SO MUCH fun having him here! The brothers spent most of the time watching the DOTA tournament. It was really good getting to know JD better considering that the first  and only time I had met him was at our wedding.

I always fail miserably at mini-golf.

We went to town when it came to food (literally).
It was great visiting all these restaurants that Jeremy and I hadn't been to.
Alright, check out the BIGGEST pizza I have ever had.
And probably the MOST delicious.

I had such a blast during my birthday weekend! :)

The Last of Houston

Last week we went to HOUSTON! Jeremy was there for business and I went along because there ain't no way I will stay home for a week without my hubby. Our trip was so much fun.

  • I got the chance to meet Jeremy's cousin and his family. We had dinner with them and it was so fun meeting them and their two kiddos!
  • Our hotel was hecka nice and right next to CHINATOWN. We decided to walk over and eat dinner there. I have never been to a chinatown before in my life. And so it was surprising to see businesses and street signs with Chinese writing.  Literally everything was in Chinese and it was incredible.
  • We also did some shopping and got ourselves a couple of things! Ooops...I mean, I got MYSELF a couple of things. We also watched The Wolverine (Do not watch this. Such a waste of time and there wasn't any real character development. Not to mention there wasn't even a real plot. The only good thing about it: HUGH JACKMAN.)
  • Bertie the Bear also came with us! A couple of years ago my coworkers and I would take Bertie with us on our trips that summer. We still continue the tradition.
  • The last couple of pictures on here are from the road trip.  Jeremy drove all the way there and so I had pleeenty of time to uhhh take pictures of myself. Does anybody else do that on long road trips or is it just me? I know you all do it too. Oh! And we also took a video of us playing I SPY. haha SO WATCH IT!

Fishback Wedding

While in Houston we were fortunate enough to attend our friend's wedding!
Conor was Jeremy's roommate when we were dating/engaged.
We love Conor; he is such a great guy!

I was soo happy to be there for his sealing :)
Jeremy wasn't able to attend because he had some work training during this time. Let me tell you, I could not stop crying during the sealing. It's funny to me that I didn't cry at my OWN sealing but I was crying like a baby for Conor's. But hey, it happens because on your own wedding day there are so many things going on!

The happy couple :)

This little girl was camera ready for me!

This is my new friend Amanda whom I spent most of the wedding festivities with!

 Wedding Reception

That evening they had an outdoor reception. And I looooved the decorations.
Since it was an outdoor wedding, the Houston mosquitoes were eating me alive!

We also made new friends!

I'm so happy that I was able to make it to Conor's wedding.
It's so good to see that he has found the love of his life.
We had a great time and it was good seeing a friend!

Congrats Conor & Natalie!
